The theme behind all of Christ's preaching was, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Mark 1:15. As you can see from this text, the gospel message is based on Bible Prophecy.
Why did Jesus say that, "The time is fulfilled"? What prophecy was He talking about? Jesus was referring to the "seventy weeks" period that the Prophet Daniel wrote about in Daniel 9:24. This period is shown above, and as you can see, it is a prophecy that directly points to Jesus, His ministry and His death.
