Much of the focus of the entire Bible is on what Jesus either would do, or did, during this week. Even though this timeline may seem small, what happens during this week is of utmost importance to each person on earth. In fact, if Jesus did not go to the cross for us then none of us would have any reason to study the Bible (or the rest of these timelines for that matter) because there would be no hope of anything after this life. But, because of what Jesus did do we have the promise that He will give us, not only eternal life, but all the other good things that go along with it. What amazing love!
The most important thing in the world is for us to come to know God better and learn to trust Him. In fact, Jesus is quoted in Matthew 6:33 as saying, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." We need to keep "first things first". (This bibletimelines.org web site was created to help accomplish that.)
Really study your Bible and ask hard-to-understand questions. Pray that God will help you understand what He is telling you. The popular movie, The Passion of the Christ, has given many of us a better idea of what Jesus must have gone through. Of course a movie like this was created with the intent of making money, but it also helps us think and ask questions. (Follow the links below and you may find the Bible's answer many of these questions.)
You can also see in this timeline that the way we currently look at a "day" is a little different than how people looked at a "day" in Bible times. Today we start our "day" at midnight, but in Bible times every "day" started at sunset. In other words, Friday at sunset was the start of the "7th day" of the week and sunset on Saturday was the beginning of the "1st day" of the week. Remember, there were no clocks, or watches, especially for telling time at night. Even today there are still many people who do not have access to a clock, yet no matter where you go on this earth each day can be divided by the raising and lowering of the sun (even in the land of the "midnight sun").
Clicking on an event (especially toward the end of this timeline) should bring up additional information about that event.
