(Read the entire
commentary on
the life of Jesus.)
Jesus came to earth and lived as a human to show us what God was really like and to show us that God really does love those He has created. (In fact, He came to show the entire universe this love. Remember that 2/3 of the angels in heaven were loyal to God and are still there. In addition to those, there must be other beings throughout the universe that God has created.) The life of Jesus on earth lasted 33 1/2 years, but only the last 3 1/2 years of that was dedicated to healing the sick and raising the dead, etc. He was the "Anointed One" during those last 3 1/2 years. (See the Daniel 8 & 9 Timeline.)
The purpose of this timeline is to give an overview of His life. As on most of the timelines, clicking on an event in the large timeline above will bring additional information related to that event to this lower section.

"...the enemy of good
blinded the minds of men, so that they looked upon God with fear; they
thought of Him as severe and unforgiving. Satan led men to conceive of God
as a being whose chief attribute is stern justice,--one who is a severe
judge, a harsh, exacting creditor. He pictured the Creator as a being who
is watching with jealous eye to discern the errors and mistakes of men,
that He may visit judgments upon them. It was to remove this dark
shadow, by revealing to the world the infinite love of God, that Jesus
came to live among men."
"The greater part of our Savior's life on
earth was spent in patient toil in the carpenter's shop at Nazareth."
"He was as faithfully fulfilling His mission while working at His humble
trade as when He healed the sick or walked upon the storm tossed waves of
Galilee. So in the humblest duties and lowliest positions of life,
we may walk and work with Jesus." |
