Bible Timelines Online contains a series of over 20 free timelines. Even though the typical timeline shows when an event took place these timelines were designed to help in understanding the reasons "Why?" an event happened rather than to show exactly when it happened. (In other words, these timelines are not your typical Bible timelines. If you are needing specific dates you are not likely to find them here, sorry.) Many of these timelines contain hyperlinks (buttons) that will display additional information about a specific event, or topic. Being able to see the Bible's overall "big picture" in timeline form can sometimes help us to understand the smaller events, which in turn makes it easier for us to see God's great love for each of us. (See the presentation entitled "The Big Picture".)
The information in the Bible can
be viewed as pieces of a very large puzzle. This website is designed to help
sort and arrange these "puzzle" pieces into an understandable picture. The entire site is divided
into five categories, as displayed in the Table of Contents at the left.
These categories are:
Bible History Timelines (These timelines are attempting to place events in their correct sequence and show why things happened the way they did. They show what God has already done for us.)
Bible Prophecy Timelines (These timelines are showing a few prophecies in timeline format. They show a little of what God will do for us.)
Bible Principles Timelines (These timelines are attempting to show a few very important principles in timeline format, thereby giving us a better picture of who God is and what He's like.)
Non-Timeline topics (These topics are attempting to answer tough questions like: "Is there really a God?"; "Why is there so much suffering?"; "What happens when you die?"; "How can I find the truth?"; "What is going to happen in the future?"; "Is Jesus really going to come back to this earth? Why?"; "How can I know for sure?"; "What's in it for me?", plus many others)
Presentations (This is a category that was created just so that all of the available presentations could be found in one place. All of the PowerPoint presentations and some of the web versions are now available in Spanish as well.)
God’s love is the sum of all
that the Bible stands for, a summary of all that is included in it’s
pages. Every
event,
every story and every principle in the Bible shows the goodness and love of God, or it shows just how much
sin hurts and destroys everything it touches. (If you find something in
the Bible that you do not understand, look at it from this angle.)
When you love someone, you want the absolute best for them and because we know that God loves us we can also know that He wants the absolute best for us. (This is why God must destroy sin completely.) He is always thinking about our happiness and our well being in everything He does and in everything He asks of us. (See Jeremiah 29:11) In fact, Jesus came to earth so that we might have life and have more of it, not just after we get to heaven, but also right now. (See John 10:10) What this means is that God wants you to be really happy, even beyond your wildest dreams, and because of this you can trust Him completely!
God has promised, "And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13 The more we learn about God, the more we will appreciate this love and so this site is dedicated to sharing lessons learned about God and about His love.
