(These images are sized to fit a typical
5"x7" postcard allowing a 1/16" trim on all 4 sides. Actual size is 5.127"
x 7.127" at 300 dpi.)
Here is a set of steps for creating our 5"x7" postcards using
OverNightPrints.com (Overnightprints.com is just one of many
online commercial printers and of course this is not the only way
of printing these.)
- Right click the "Front" image above that you want to use and click
"Save image as". Save it to your desktop.
(These are fairly large images and may take a little time to download.)
- Repeat step #1, but save the "Back" image this time.
- Once both images are saved to your desktop click
http://www.overnightprints.com/ to open their site in a
new window, or tab.
- Click the "Postcards" link on their site and then click the "Upload Your
Design" link.
- In the "File Upload" box, click the "Browse" buttons to find each image
above that you previously saved to your desktop.
- When you have found both images you want to use just click the "Upload"
button.
- Once the images are uploaded you will be given a preview and be given
several more options.
- Specify how many cards you wish to order and choose whatever other options
you want such as "glossy" for the Front side, then click the
"Submit" button.
- If you would like to order additional cards this is the time to do it.
(Repeat the steps above for each card that you want, then go on
to the next step.)
- The next page will show a preview again and show what you final cost will
be, including shipping. (credit card required)
- Follow their prompts to complete your order.
At this point in time (June 29, 2009)
OverNightPrints.com charges $29.95 for 100 double sided 5x7 "value"
postcards. (The "glossy finish" is a very nice option for the front, but
making the back glossy is not a good idea as it will prevent you from writing on
it.)
Once you receive your postcards share a stack of
them at church and mail
them to friends and family, etc. Thanks,
and may you be blessed as you share the great news of God's love in this way.
